In the third round of the 2017 MLB Draft, The Houston Astros selected their 91st pick from Grayson Community Junior college’s right-handed pitcher (RHP) Tyler Ivey.
As listed on the Crawfish Boxes, Tyler is a sophomore at the Community College where his record was 9-0 with a 2.08 ERA in 12 games. His strikes outs are 122 with 28 walks in 78 innings.
Tyler became the first in NJCAA Region 5 in strikeouts and strikeouts per game. He also has a 5-0 with a 1.82 ERA in 8 conference games. Before being drafted, Tyler Ivey was committed to play baseball at Oklahoma State after his time at Grayson College.
The pitcher is ranked as number 313 on the MLB rankings.
Tyler Ivey was with the Texas Aggies before he transferred after his freshman season. Tyler appeared in 11 games with 2-3 record and a 3.56 ERA while there.
