TMZ was first to report that Steve Harvey’s second ex-wife was filing suit against the star with allegations of claims of torture, child endangerment and ‘Soul Murdering’ during their marriage that lasted from 1996 until 2005.
Mary Vaughn is saying that she suffered, “prolonged torture with the infliction of severe mental pain and suffering,” according the docs obtained by ET.
The court documents are claim that Mary “attempted suicide by self-medication [in] an effort to stop the pain,” allegedly caused by Steve and his attorney and that she suffered from “severe emotional distress” too. Mary is claiming that the emotional distress led to medical conditions for her and her family that lasted over a duration of 15 years.
Mary isn’t leaving anything out, the pair have a child together, Wynton Harvey who was born in 1997. She is also suing for alleged “child endangerment, torture, kidnapping, and she goes on with breach of contract, conspiracy against rights, intentional infliction of emotion distress, and soul murdering” and she threw in brainwashing too.
Mary faced jail time back in 2013 when she tried airing their dirty laundry on YouTube with “her side of the story,” but since their divorce was sealed and a gag order was in place, she was in violation of a court order and that left her jailed for 30 days.
According to the updated part of the TMZ story, Harvey’s lawyer, Brandon Williams said, “Mr. Harvey vehemently denies any allegations set forth in the lawsuit. The Complaint is meritless, frivolous and the allegations are completely false. We will vigorously defend/counterclaim against the Complaint.”
