It appears that Floyd Mayweather, Jr.’s UK tour isn’t going as planned… Around 3:30 a.m., Sunday morning, someone decided to torch a TMT van by using some sort of a Molotov cocktail that was tossed into the van.
The fire can be seen in a variety of social media pictures and videos engulfing the TMT va outside the Birmingham hotel.
It all happened hours after Mayweather made a scheduled speaking engagement at the Birmingham’s International Convention Centre on Saturday. The fans that came out to see him paid £400 or 489 American dollars to get a meet and greet with him that included an individual picture.
“Offenders smashed the window of the vehicle, a people carrier, before pouring accelerant inside and setting it alight,” a West Midlands police spokesperson said. “Enquiries into the fire, which caused extensive damage to the vehicle belonging to a guest, are currently on-going and police are examining CCTV from the area.”
The police spokesperson continued saying, “Enquiries are currently on-going as to why this vehicle was targeted.”
All this is happening after a lot of Mayweather and UFC’s Conor McGregor fight talk too.
During his UK trip, Mayweather did have some fun too.
He even go to meet an Irish impressionist and voice impersonator comedian who made it on the mic and to the stage to call Mayweather out for a fight.
It was all in fun and Mayweather chuckled the entire time. The man did Conor’s voice, Mike Tyson, Robert DeNiro, Donald Trump and even did Joe Pesci.
During his UK tour, Mayweather said on Saturday, “If I was (McGregor) and I was smart, before I lose again in the UFC, I’d let Floyd Mayweather kick my a** for a lot of money. It makes business sense.”
