Park & Cafe Coffee Bar in Baltimore recently decided to eliminate taking cash as payment and only accepting credit cards in order to keep their employees safe.
“We’re not going to accept cash anymore. I’m going to take that out of the equation,” owner David hart told CBS Baltimore.

The owner’s decision to change the method of payment is because The Coffee Bar had five break-ins between October and January and despite his every effort to increase his security the owner, David Hart, did the break-ins kept coming.
It seems that their customers can understand their decision and are supportive with it too.
“I would say virtually 90 percent of them have said, ‘Listen, you need to do what you needed to do to protect yourself and protect your staff. We will continue support you,'” Hart said.
They said that their most recent robbery happened on Jan. 20th and David added more security by:
Installing more security cameras, Installed panic bars on the doors, Increased lighting and He’s locked the doors earlier then usual.
Although the robber was captured and arrested, the five break-ins were all David needed to make changes to deter any future robberies that could occur.
“Never in my wildest imagination did I think that this would really be an issue for me,” he said.
Maybe they’ll start up a gift card method to go with their no cash policy too.
What would you do, would you quick being a customer or accept the new policy?
