The iconic singer-songwriter-musician George Michael has passed away in his London home just at the age of 53. It has been confirmed that the talented artist had died of heart failure and was “in bed, lying peacefully,” which his longtime lawyer Michael Lippman told The Hollywood Reporter.
“It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period,” his publicist Connie Filippello said in a statement. “The family would ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult and emotional time. There will be no further comment at this stage.”
Update per TMZ says:
One of Michael’s principal reps tell TMZ the singer had not been ill, and had been working on a Showtime movie of his life that was set to air in England next March.
