19-time Olympic medal winner, Michael Phelps cruised through to the finals of the Men’s 200m Butterfly on Monday cheered on by his fiance, Nicole Johnson and baby son Boomer plus actor Matthew McConaughey.

Although Phelps easily qualified for the finals coming in second at 1.54.12 it was while preparing for the event in another room with other swimmers that he gave Chad le Clos the death stare that has the internet buzzing today.

23-time Olympic medal winner Chad le Clos, the South African swimmer that won gold from Phelps at the same event in London 2012, seemed to be trying to intimidate Phelps while shadowboxing directly in front of him.

It caused a very unemotional Phelps to give le Clos the death stare that has the internet buzzing.

Hungarian rival, Tamás Kenderesi, took the fastest time completing the race in 1.54.73 and le Clos was third at 1.55.19.

The finals of the Men’s 200m Butterfly at the Rio Olympic Games 2016 will be held tomorrow evening.
