Congrats to the legendary rapper, Slick Rick for becoming a U.S. citizen after 40 years of living in America.
The British born rapper arrived in New York City in 1976 with his parents and he’s been here ever since.
He did run into a little of a patchy moment back in 1990 when he did prison time for a self-defensive shooting of a person.
Although Rick was pardoned for the shooting, problems still arose when they threatened to deport him back to England. Lucky for him that wasn’t the case.
TMZ captured the happy moments of Rick outside of the NYC courthouse after he was sworn in.
Rick said, “I am so proud of this moment- and so honored to finally bemuse an American citizen.”
