New Orleans’ overnight sensation, Big Freedie is in hot water with the government for a few THOUSAND dollars.
The entertainer, “Queen of Bounce” apparently took illegal money from the Department of Housing and Urban Development that has now bemuse a legal issue for her.
The documents filed against Freedia aka Freddie Ross are claiming that the entertainer is accused of stealing money from the housing department between the years of 2010 through 2014 in the amount of about $34,000.

There is good news for Freedie though, they have also reported that she is fully cooperating with the feds and is making arrangements to repay FULL restitution of the $34k in “illegal money” back.
Big Freedie’s first court date is March 16 with the U.S. District Judge and they are saying that she can’t wait to put this matter behind her.
“I truly believe there needs to be more programs for artists and musicians to teach basic financial literacy and planning. Coming from where I cam from, I know that I could have used that kind of assistance. I’m exploring ways to be a part of the solution in this area.”
In a statement, Freedia said that she did receive federal housing vouchers for years and she said, “It wasn’t until recently (after I stopped receiving housing vouchers) that it became very clear I had received assistance to which I wasn’t entitled. It was an oversight- but one that I take full responsibility for.”
