Like most people in the world, El Chapo isn’t really feeling prison.

In an interview with Mexico’s Radio Formula on Tuesday, Joaquín Archivaldo Guzman’s lawyer said his client feels like he’s a victim of “physical and mental torture” because the prison guards wake him up so frequently.

He told me, literally, ‘Every two hours, at night, they wake me up to take roll. … They are turning me into a zombie. They do not let me sleep. All I want is just for them to let me sleep,’” his attorney, Juan Pablo Badillo said. The drug lord even went so far as to say he’s being brutally tortured and compares it to the acts of Soviet Union leader Joseph Stalin in the 1930s.

Since El Chapo was recaptured in January, he’s made Altiplano Prison his home, which is the same facility he broke out of back in July. After the mishap, security has stepped up immensely, with motion sensors monitoring his every move, dogs trained to specifically detect his scent, and steel rod reinforced floors, notes CNN.

If El Chapo is able to break out again, then his biopic will truly be epic.
