While the blizzard that blew through this weekend shutdown most of the East Coast, there was one woman who courageously navigated the elements for her patients.
Chantelle Diabate, a nurse located in New York City, walked an hour and a half Saturday to get to her job.
“My drive for me was my patients,” Diabate told The Post.
“As long as my daughter was safe [with a baby-sitter], I knew I had to come back and take care of my second family. I knew they needed people and it was an emergency.”
Heroically, Diabete was the only night worker to make it in. The 31-year-old works for the Hebrew Home in Riverdale, where many senior citizens need assistance and care.
“This is what I do for a living.I love it, and I have a passion for it,” she continued. “I love the geriatric community, they have so much to offer. They shaped the world we live in today.”
