The production of the the Tupac Shakur biopic, “All Eyez on Me” is up and running again after a brief halt of production and a change of directors since the biopic came about.
Now, with the project on the move, we know who is playing Tupac’s mom, Afeni Shakur. Afeni was a political activist and a known member of the Black Panthers and Danai Gurira is the actress that won the role.
Since 2012, Danai has been playing the sword carrying character Michonne from the popular zombie show, The Walking Dead.
Danai isn’t just known for her onscreen acting, she’s also known for her off screen acting in plays and for her playwriting too.
The film is the story of the beginning of Tupac’s rise to fame as a hip-hop artist and later his story of him becoming an actor.
Of course we know the ending when Tupac was gunned down on the Las Vegas strip in a drive-by shooting in 1996.
