The classic hip-hop rapper has announced that all of the royalties from his last album ‘Compton’ will go straight back to the city of Compton.
During a radio appearance this morning, Dr. Dre says he couldn’t decide on what type of philanthropy was best. With help from Compton Mayor Aja Brown, the two decided on an idea to fund an “arts and entertainment facility” right in Compton.
“I feel like it’s the right thing to do and I just hope everybody appreciates all the hard work I’ve put into this album,” says Dr. Dre.
His album, Compton: A Soundtrack by Dr. Dre, will release on August 7 exclusively on iTunes and Apple Music.
