The television world is being rocked by some recent news regarding Springfield’s golden couple, Homer and Marge Simpson.
The stars of the hit show “The Simpsons” are said to be going through a legal separation due to the strain on their marriage caused by Homer’s narcolepsy. Rumors are also swirling about Homer’s alleged new love (Lena Dunham), who happens to be his pharmacist as well.
These tidbits were shared by the show’s executive producer Al Jean in an interview with Variety. According to Jean we can be sure to witness all the drama in the upcoming 27th season of “The Simpsons”. We tried contacting both camps but neither Homer nor Marge could be reached for comment.
Homer and Marge’s marital troubles are just the latest in the unrest that has been taken place in Springfield. Not too long ago, rumors began to spread about Harry Shearer leaving the hit show.

However, Jean confirmed these rumors as well in his interview. Shearer, who voiced Mr. Burns, Waylon Smithers, Ned Flanders, and Principal Skinner will be replaced.
Jean also leaked to Entertainment Weekly the possibility of Side Show Bob actually succeeding in getting rid of his nemesis Bart Simpson. Looks like Bart may be eating his own shorts. In light of all this, it seems the city of Springfield, will longer be the same.
The new season of “The Simpsons” will premiere on September 27, 2015.
