josephfarley(KEMAH, TX) — A late-night accident claimed the life of a man who gained fame here as “The Naked Unicyclist.”

On May 9, 2012, police received calls about a potential danger posed on the Kemah Bridge. It was about 1:30 p.m., and traffic was distracted by a man pedaling along in the right lane — completely naked.

The Latest News Headlines, Traffic and Weather:

Joseph Farley was arrested and charged with indecent exposure. Kemah police said he was not under the influence of booze or drugs; that he had explained he just enjoyed the way it felt to ride in the nude.

After his arrest, his father told our news partner, KHOU 11, that his son was ill and needed help.

Last night, the 47-year-old was riding his unicycle northbound on Sens at L Street in La Porte when he was struck and killed.

The driver of the Jeep that hit him stopped and waited for police. No charges are expected to be filed.
