(HOUSTON) – The Stay family massacre in Spring gives rise to yet another effort to raise money for 15-year-old Cassidy Stay, the lone survivor of the attack.

The owner of Mak’s Place sports bar on Louetta near Strack Drive had a strong reaction to the murders of five people, and he’s taking action.

Kevin Cormier is inviting his customers and anyone else who wants to help out to attend a fundraising event at the bar.

Cormier said they’ll be holding live and silent auctions as well as raffles 2-6 p.m. on July 26 at Mak’s Place.

They’ll also be donating 100 percent of cash register receipts for all drinks and food to the cause.

If you have any items for the auction, you can drop them off at Mak’s Place any time during business hours.

There is a GoFundMe account to raise money for Cassidy. So far, people have donated more than $277,000.
