(HOUSTON) — An unattended backpack prompts an evacuation at a Houston elementary school.

Houston Fire Department responded to a suspicious package call at Barbara Bush Elementary at 6:57 a.m. Thursday morning, and the school was evacuated.

“At HISD threats made against a student or a campus are taken seriously,” the Houston school district said, in a statement.  “As such, HISD Police and HPD are working together to ensure there is a safe environment for students and staff. Parents of students are being notified of the situation.”

A bomb squad has yet to arrive on the scene, but is en route. We’ll bring you more as the story develops.
