(MISSOURI CITY, TX) — A 17-year old Hightower High School student was arrested for bringing a gun to school this week.
He was charged with places weapons prohibited, a felony, and sent to the Fort Bend County Jail.
According to Fort Bend Independent School District officials, the weapon was found in the student’s backpack around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday. It was discovered while he was being questioned about another matter in the principal’s office.
“We are thankful that our administrators and Fort Bend ISD police officers handled this matter quickly and safely,” Fort Bend ISD officials said in a letter sent home to parents. “The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority.”
