The Academy put on quite the show last night – Ellen, the pizza, the speeches. And then, this: a photo posted to their Instagram account of Penélope Cruz and Robert De Niro backstage labeled Cruz as Salma Hayek instead. The original post has since been deleted from the account.
Okay, Academy. Was someone asleep behind the social media wheel, or do you just think all attractive Latina women are interchangeable. This was an epic fail if there ever was one (and just take a look at the IG comments below if you don’t believe me).
Cruz and De Niro presented the award for Best Original Screenplay and Best Adapted Screenplay.
