Approximately 12:45 p.m.
The investigation continues. We have been informed that a student suspect is in custody.
The students that were previously evacuated to the baseball and football fields are being moved to the Seven Lakes Junior High stadium, and are being released today at 1:30 p.m.
Students may be picked up by a parent or they may walk home. Students who do not have transportation will be provided Katy ISD bus transportation. Students who drove to school and currently have the keys in their possession may leave after their car has been cleared to go. Students with car keys in the building, or bikes near the building, are not allowed to retrieve them at this time.
Parents are being asked to pick up their students at Seven Lakes Junior High. All official after-school activities have been canceled.

(KATY) Seven Lakes High School in Katy has been evacuated after a suspicious device was discovered on a backpack just after 10 a.m. this morning.
District spokesman Steve Stanford said the device appeared to be out of the ordinary for something that should be on campus. Students and staff have been moved to a nearby football field.

“Anytime there’s any type of threat, whether its real or perceived, we always want to make sure that kids are safe and staff is safe so we removed them from the building, and then we bring in the people who are the experts in these things,” Stanford said.
Stanford says the Harris County bomb squad is urging parents not to come to the campus to pick up their children at this time.

(KATY) Students and staff at Seven Lakes High School in Katy have evacuated the building after suspicious backpack was discovered this morning just after 10 a.m.
A spokesman for the district says the backpack had some type of questionable device attached. The students and staff have been evacuated to the football field. School leaders are urging parents not to come to the school to pick up their students.
The Harris County bomb squad is en route to the scene.

Katy school district says students and staff were evacuated around 10:45 a.m. this morning from the school on South Fry Rd. Parents are advised not to pick up their students at this time.
