The Summer Creek Bulldogs have wasted no time becoming one of the best teams in the state. In just their fourth season, the program is considered by many to be an early favorite to win the 4-A Division 1 title. It’s not far fetched. They’re 20-3 in their last two seasons and dominated district 19-4A a season ago. In the regular season finale, they had a coming out party, of sorts, routing Dayton 45-7. There’s talent all over the roster.

Aaron Sharp is committed to Kansas State and is a preseason All Greater Houston selection at Quarterback. He won 3 gold medals in track, helping the school to a state championship. But that doesn’t mean he’s just a runner from the quarterback spot. He’s a complete player, tossing 38 touchdowns and only 6 interceptions in route to an 11-1 record. He’s got plenty of weapons around him. Jordan Braden scored 10 TD’s last season and is a threat at punt returner as well. Torrey Johnson is a fast, electrifying wide receiver who has become Sharp’s go-to guy.

On defense, linebacker Dakota Allen is a beast. He’s a 4 year varsity player and has become one of the area’s most consistent performers in the middle. They’ve also got a big time playmaking cornerback in Byron Francis who picked off 4 passes last year.

Thirteen starters return from last year’s team, including a number of players who saw significant playing time. Depth is not an issue. Coach Brian Ford says he learned a lot from coach David Aymond at North Shore. That’s easy to believe considering how quickly he’s built a powerhouse from the ground up.

The Summer Creek Bulldogs are big, fast, strong, smart and well coached. That usually means you’ll be pretty good. One of the state’s newest schools can become it’s newest champion.
