New Jersey rap group Naughty By Nature has made some of the most memorable songs in hip-hop since they debuted in 1991. Fast forward some 22 years and things have taken a drastic change for the worse. After announcing via Twitter that Vinnie Brown was fired from the group, Treach has just released a new song dissing his partner-in-rhyme.

Titled “Tall Midget,” Treach hurls accusations that Vinnie never wrote his own raps and that he’s a leech living off of Treach and their DJ, Kay Gee‘s creations. While the problems between Treach and Vinnie seem to have come out of nowhere, Treach says the problems they’re going through have been simmering for years. In fact, the two haven’t even spoken on a personal level since 2011. However, they have continued to perform together to keep the Naughty By Nature business alive.

Treach told AllHipHop.com, “We never wanted to be the groups that couldn’t resolve our issues. Nobody is larger than the group. We always fit [Vinnie] in even if there wasn’t a spot for [him] to fit in. You will never see Vin do a Naughty show [alone], because he can’t. Me and KG (the groups DJ and hit making producer) can do this for the rest of our lives. I don’t work for nobody.”

Apparently, Vinnie has been making business decisions that affect the group without consulting the other two members. Treach said Vinnie’s questionable business ethics is one of the reasons he took their private beef to the social networking site. Although things look bleak in the Naughty By Nature camp, Treach maintains the group isn’t broken up, but they are only dealing with each other because of business. “I’ll never say never to nothing, because I’m a business man. For now, Vinnie is on a “grown man timeout.”

Hopefully, these two can work things out because New Jersey hip-hop just isn’t the same without Naughty By Nature not standing together as the elder statesmen.
