(Santa Fe, NM) — A former officer of the year in New Mexico is off the police force after having sex on his patrol car’s hood with the escapade getting caught on videotape. Officer Bert Lopez of the state police department’s video sex tape made it onto the Internet and it showed him having sex with a woman while the patrol car is parked on Santa Fe County-owned property. He was being paid as a cop until recently being booted from the force. Lopez was the District One Officer of the Year in 2009 and was also given an award for going above the call of duty. He is allowed to appeal his case within the next month.
