Back in September, Bethany Storro- a woman from Washington was “attacked” with acid by an African American woman, or so she claims. It turns out that the story was a hoax, and that Bethany actually splashed acid on her own face, causing severe burns and hospitalization. The truth came out when Bethany was under serious questioning by detectives and police noticed the differences in her story each time she told it. She finally broke down and confessed that she splashed herself with acid and blamed it on an African American woman.
Now, Bethany has taken a plea deal for making false statements to the police. She now must log 240 hours of community service and pay $4,000 worth of overtime to the detectives. During sentencing, Bethany apologized to the people of her community, and especially the African American community, for blaming the incident on a black woman without reason.
