The term “HPV” may sound familiar or you’ve seen the popular commercial on your television screen .  If you thought HPV was a virus that only young girls have to pay attention to, think again.

Human papillomavirus is a virus that according to the CDC ,most sexually active people will contract at some time in their lives.  A recent study reported in Huffington Post discovered 50 percent of men ages 18 to 70 in Brazil, Mexico and the United States have genital infection with human papillomavirus.  HPV has been associated as the virus that causes cervical cancer in women.  Researchers have also found that the virus can also cause cancer in the head and neck.
