Beyonce will be headlining the UK’s Glastonbury Festival this coming summer. She’ll be treating her overseas fans to a 90-minute set.
The music fest, which takes place from June 22-26 this year, rarely recruits non-rock acts (or black ones, for that matter) as headliners.
David Bowie, Radiohead, Coldplay, The Killers, The Who and many, many more all took the stage before Jay-Z was finally given the honors in 2008.
Of her upcoming performance, Beyonce said:
“This really is the biggest festival in the world and I cannot wait to perform there. Everyone who attends is really appreciative of music and is in such a good mood that entire weekend. I’m pumped just thinking about that huge audience and soaking up their energy.”
