HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man was in the hospital Friday after his car was struck by a train in northwest Harris County.

Police said a man was driving east on FM 1960 around 8:45 p.m. when he turned the wrong direction on Breton Ridge.

Authorities said he attempted to drive around traffic that was stopped at nearby railroad tracks and got stuck.

Police said an oncoming train then slammed into the victim’s passenger-side door. The driver was transported to the hospital in serious condition.
