Kathy Griffin booed for Bristol Palin joke
Comedian Kathy Griffin is widely known for making any and everyone the butt of her jokes and her performance at the ‘VH1 Divas: Salute the Troops‘ was no different.
During the televised event, Kathy Griffin decided to take aim at Vice-President reject Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol, poking fun at the obvious weight gain during her stint on “Dancing With the Stars”.
“Were gonna talk about Dancing With The Stars. We got two words – Bristol Palin. She’s the only contestant in the history of the show to actually gain weight,” Griffin joked. “She gained like 30 pounds a week, it was fantastic. She’s like the white Precious.”
Obviously not amused, the troops began to belt out boos like a sea of angry ghosts, but Kathy not wanting to tell the L, encouraged the crowd to “boo” louder.
“C’mon, I know you can boo louder than that,” Griffin continued. “I love it, War is hell.”
Bristol Palin decided to respond to the joke via FOX news (of course), by stating:
“The audience’s reaction to this ‘comedian’ spoke volumes, and the decent people I know would probably have booed her, too. I hope people didn’t have to pay money to hear her negativity and criticisms.”
