SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Jake Orlando hit a pair of home runs and drove in five runs as the Pearland All-Stars held on for a 10-8 victory over Plymouth, Minn., Friday in their opener at the Little League World Series.

Orlando hit a two-run homer during a three-run first inning and a solo homer in the fourth. He went 4-for-4 in the game.

Jorge Gutierrez went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Blake Toler had a home run.

Pearland jumped out to an 8-0 lead after two innings and wasn’t threatened until Colin Quinn hit a grand slam off Blake Toler with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning. With one runner on base, Pearland pitcher Pryce Beshoory struck out the final batter to end the game.

Pearland will face Fairfield, Conn., a 3-1 winner over Auburn.
