(Undated) — The first trailer for the upcoming “Smurfs” movie makes its debut tomorrow. The film is a comedic live-action take on the popular 1980s “Smurfs” cartoon. It follows six of the little blue forest creatures as they are magically transported from their home in a medieval forest to modern-day New York City. The computer-animated Papa, Clumsy, Grouchy, Smurfette, Brainy and a new character named Gutsy take refuge with a New York couple played by Neil Patrick Harris and Jayma Mays. Hank Azaria stars as Gargamel, the sneaky wizard who hunts the Smurfs through the Big Apple along with his cat Azrael. The movie will eventually be shown in 3-D and is scheduled to hit theaters in August 2011. The trailer can be seen on Yahoo.com.
