Man Hold Up! Just yesterday I posted this story and already a major update — Whole Foods is planning to take to court a Texas pastor who claims a worker wrote a gay slur on a “Love Wins” cake. The Austin-based grocer says Pastor Jordan Brown and his lawyer are lying and will take legal action against the two. Whole Foods also released security footage they claim shows Brown isn’t telling the truth because the footage appears to show the UPC code on the top of the box. Video that Brown’s attorney released shows the cake box’s UPC is on the bottom of the box. Whole Foods also says the employee who decorated the cake is actually part of the LGBTQ community.
Brown says he discovered the slur last week after picking up the cake, called the store to complain, and was offered a gift card and replacement cake. He then says Whole Foods called him back and said nothing was done wrong. Check daily for more updates on the Cake controversy!
