Beyonce doesn’t usually say much, she let’s her art speak for itself with no apologies.  But back during the half-time show at Superbowl 50 that seemed to take a very “Urban” slant, some of her fans seemed to be taken off guard, even upset about her very “Urban” aka “Black” performance.

Why?  Beyonce is one of the black superstars who’s appeal is not just black audiences but she’s been able to successfully cross over to the mainstream audiences.

Up until this point she hasn’t even bother addressing the issue but according to “Fameolous’s Instagram page” the “Formation singer is finally speaking out.

The artist, generally known to her fans as “Bey” said, “If celebrating my roots and culture during Black History Month made anyone feel uncomfortable, those feelings were there long before a video and long before me.”

Bey went on to say about the Super Bowl performance, “I mean, I’m an artist, and I think the most powerful art is usually misunderstood. But anyone who perceives my message as anti-police is completely mistaken. I have so much admiration and respect for officers and the families of officers who sacrifice themselves to keep us safe. But let’s be clear: I am against police brutality and injustice. Those are two separate things. If celebrating my roots and culture during Black History Month made anyone uncomfortable, those feelings were there long before a video and long before me. I’m proud of what we created, and I’m proud to be part of a conversation that is pushing things forward in a positive way.”

Recently, Beyonce just started a new clothing line named after her daughter Blue Ivy and Parkwood Park were she would run often in the beginning of her career called “Ivy Park.” Check it out below.
