(Undated)  —  “The Interview” is heading to Crackle.  Following a pick-up from Netflix, Sony has announced plans to stream the controversial comedy on its own free streaming service, although a premiere date has yet to be announced.  Netflix just announced Tuesday that it would begin streaming the Seth Rogen-James Franco comedy starting this Saturday.  Sony’s decision to offer “The Interview” on Netflix and now Crackle follows the 46-million-dollar haul the company says the movie has made from streaming, video-on-demand and its limited theatrical release over the Christmas holiday.

“The Interview” was forced into unconventional release formats after major theater chains backed out of screening the comedy due to hackers’ threats of attack.
