Women’s March on Washington
We know the pain of losing children to state violence. We know the pain of striving for justice and being denied at every turn. We choose to tell their stories in the hopes that more mothers won’t have to go through what we’ve been through.
During his first day in office, Donald Trump bashed the media for allegedly downplaying his inaugural turnout.
Among the thousands were Angela Davis, Alicia Keys, the Mothers of the Movement, and more — who all provided priceless moments to remember.
The rally will still continue, Chicago Tribune reports.
Mexican drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman was extradited to the U.S. on Thursday evening.
"Will the Women’s March on Washington be a space filled primarily with participants who believe that Black lives matter? I’m not sure, especially considering the attitudes of some who have publicly stated that they don’t want to hear calls for attendees to check their White privilege at the proverbial door,” Jamilah Lemieux explains in an op-ed at ColorLines.
On January 21, 2017, one day after the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump, thousands are expected to gather in Washington D.C., in yet another march for women's rights.
The women's march, reportedly the largest protest surrounding Trump’s inauguration, is slated to take place on January 21, a day after he is sworn into office.
