I really hope the Rockets know what they were doing when they traded T-Mac away to the N.Y. Knicks. Because, if he continues to have games like he did in his debut his going to make the Rockets brass look pretty bad.

Playing in his first game since December 23rd, McGrady scored 26 points on 10-for-17 shooting. But he didn’t have enough energy to play an additional 5 minutes in a 121-118 OT loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

“I didn’t have any legs at all, and I felt like why should I be out there if I’m hurting my team?” McGrady said after the loss. “It wasn’t the right thing to do. I didn’t want to be a hero in my first game back.”

It’s hard for me to believe that he couldn’t have helped out the home team over the past 2 months. But, I’ll reserve judgement on the trade until after the season.
