Shawty Lo Archive

It’s been a week since the untimely death of Atlanta rap king Shawty Lo, and now more details are emerging about the tragic incident.

A 911 call to Atlanta Police and Fulton County Police dispatchers was released on Wednesday, detailing the dark scene of the late rapper’s car accident. As we reported, Shawty Lo lost control of his Audi, hit two trees and flipped over, resulting in a fiery crash.

In the recording, APD were first to arrive on the scene and indicated that they needed an ambulance and fire truck. The officer said the vehicle was engulfed in flames, making it difficult to determine if anyone was inside the car. After a dispatcher asked if they could make out someone inside the burning vehicle, a second dispatcher replied, “No, the person was ejected. We’ve got two females outside the vehicle with some injuries. We can’t advise on what the injuries are; the vehicle is still burning. We have APD units on scene trying to see if there’s anybody else in it, but they can’t hardly get to it.”

The medical examiner determined the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head. A memorial service will be held for Carlos Walker, aka Shawty Lo, this Saturday, Oct. 1.
