(SAN JACINTO COUNTY, TEXAS) – Nearly 15,000 marijuana plants were discovered in the National Forest.

Law enforcement from several departments spent almost eight hours cutting the plants down, which were only accessible by foot.

After the plants were cut and loaded into tarps, a Department of Public Safety helicopter airlifted them out to an open field where they were loaded into trailers.

Members of the DPS, DEA, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Polk County Sheriff’s Office, San Jacinto County Pct. 1 and Pct. 2 Constables, and the U.S. Forest Service were on scene to process and seize the plants.
