(HOUSTON) — A breezy lunch hour Monday threatened to derail a PETA stunt in downtown Houston — a beautiful woman wearing a dress made of leafy green vegetables in advance of Earth Day.

The volunteer model turned heads at Chase Bank Plaza on Capitol at Milam Streets. Wind forced PETA volunteers to work quickly to attach each leaf to her cotton body suit, building a floor-length gown made of collard greens that were held on with spray-on glue.

Once her dress was complete, the woman held a sign that read “Go Green Go Vegan” and handed out “Meat’s Not Green” pamphlets.

“PETA’s message for Earth Day and year-round is that it’s impossible to ‘go green’ without going vegan,” PETA Associate Director of Campaigns Lindsay Rajt said. “Between polluting the soil, water, and air and gobbling up our natural resources, the meat industry is as toxic to the Earth as it is to human health.”
