Patrick Beverley knee
Jed Jacobson/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- With the playoffs just around the corner in the NBA, the Houston Rockets could be without point guard Patrick Beverley anywhere from 10 days to four weeks as he recovers from a torn meniscus in his right knee. Beverley suffered the injury during the team's win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday. He will be reevaluated to see the extent of the injury. "I feel pretty good," Beverley told the Houston Chronicle. "I feel like I knocked knees with somebody." "It hurt a lot the first day. I didn't really feel a lot of pain today, which is a good sign. No swelling," he contined. "So I'm going to see the best knee doctor in the country. I spoke to him on the phone. He has seen it. It looks really good. We'll see how long it lasts. It may be 10 to 14 days, maybe four weeks. He just has to get his hand on it and see how it is." In his first season as the team's full-time point guard, Beverley was averaging 9.9 points and 2.7 assists per game for the Rockets. Jeremy Lin is expected to take over for Beverley as he recovers.
