Lets Move 2014 Flyer2

The Luke Church of Humble in support of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move Initiative to raise a healthier generation of kids (www.letsmove.gov) and in partnership with Dairy Max, National Dairy Council, and the National Football League’s Play 60 Program will host another Let’s Move & Get Active Day on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 9:00 am – Noon at Jack Fields Elementary School located at 2505 S. Houston Avenue, Humble, TX 77396 (directly across the street from the church). This event, which is the 4th of its kind, is designed to promote health awareness in efforts to annihilate childhood obesity as well as ignite excitement and encourage children to become more active. This effort is a part of the church’s ongoing campaign entitled “The Luke Stands,” designed to target various social issues to provide education, create awareness, and promote engagement.

The goal for Let’s Move and Get Active Day is to engage children, youth and their entire family in interactive exercises and health awareness.  There will be obstacle courses, group line dances, cross fit boot-camp for adults, fruits, drinks, milk and dairy products from Dairy Max, and vendors who cater to children/youth by assisting them in becoming more active.  For the second year, Let’s Move will have a full-scale health fair for children and adults to include blood pressure screening, health education & financial assistance information from Harris Health System.
