Today would’ve marked the 38th birthday for the late great Christopher Wallace a.k.a. Biggie Smalls, Frank White or The Notorious B.I.G. Who was slain at the tender age of 24 March 9, 1997 in Los Angeles after a Vibe Magazine party.

To me he is the Greatest Rapper of all time. Biggie had it all the voice, the flow, the style, the lyrical content, the charisma, fire tracks, love from the ladies and respect from the streets. I know some will argue that 2Pac is the best but after 13 years it’s pretty clear that this debate will never be settled. The fact that people still disagree after all of this time is a testament to the greatness of both.

I remember the first time I heard his CD. I was at a Hampton University Homecoming riding with some friends from New York and the were blasting “The What” featuring Method Man. I was already sold but then I heard “Juicy” and “Warning” it was a wrap. I’ve been jamming the “Ready To Die” CD since 1994.

Today I will celebrate his memory with a mix at 7am. Make sure you tune into the Madd Hatta Morning Show to hear it.

R.I.P. Big Poppa.
