Former boxing champ Rocky Lockridge, known in the social media age for breaking down on an episode of A&E’s Intervention, passed away on Thursday (Feb. 7) from complications from a previous stroke TMZ reports.

“It is with great pain but a whole heart that I tell you family and friends that my father Ricky Lockridge aka Rocky Lockridge has passed away,” his son Ricky Jr. said. “All he wanted was to be in the comfort of his home with friends/ family. God has called him to walk through the gates of heaven.”

Lockridge’s heyday came in the 1980s where he won the IBF Junior Lightweight title over Barry Michael and infamously fought Floyd Mayweather’s uncle, Roger, back in 1984.

As the years progressed, Lockridge became addicted to cocaine, prompting his family to look to A&E for help. Lockrdige landed on Intervention where the cry he let out not only became a stand out moment on the show but now lives forever as one of the greatest social media memes of all-time.

RIP.
