The NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said that the league believe they know what the reasoning behind the leagues TV ratings drops.
Goodell said that he believes the rating droppings were due to the recent presidential elections against Hillary Clinton and Pres. Elect Donald Trump.

According to Goodell, since the presidential elections on Nov. 8, the ratings are down just 2 percent in comparison to this time last season.
This is also being compared to the two months before the elections where the NFL ratings had hit a low of 20 percent.
“It’s clear that the election had an impact,” Goodell said. “There’s no question that going head-to-head with debates, with an election that may have been more followed than any election in our history.”

The Commissioner said that they’re “proactive” about the rating issues and that they are planning streamlining broadcasts.
