Will Smith and Martin Lawrence Present Memoriabilias from their Movie 'Bad Boys' to Planet Hollywood

The much-anticipated Bad Boys 3 starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence just got a new name and, unfortunately, a new release date.

Sony revealed to Entertainment Weekly that the third installment of the franchise would be titled Bad Boys for Life.

The new title pays homage to Bad Boys 2, as diehard fans will remember when Will said, “We ride together, we die together — bad boys for life.”

The studio has changed the release date to Jan. 12, 2018, pushing the movie back again after previously announcing it’d release Feb. 7, 2017 and then June 2, 2017. It wasn’t until this past February that the Suicide Squad star confirmed he’d be involved in the remake, remarking on the first time he saw Martin in years.

I saw Martin [Lawrence] a few weeks ago. I haven’t seen him for about two years. We just looked at each other. We hugged. In that moment, we knew we were making another Bad Boys. We’re definitely doing another one,” Will said in an interview with BBC Radio.

The film is set to be directed by Joe Carnahan, not Michael Bay, who directed the first two. Either way, getting another film with comedic gold and the amazing chemistry of Will and Martin is well worth the directorial changes and wait.

Now where’s that Wild Wild West sequel?
