The homeless college student that gained media attention for biking to raise money for school has learned he will be able to keep the $184,000 in funds he raised.

Fred Barley was hit with criticism when the woman who created his GoFundMe campaign, Casey Blaney, questioned how he was going to use the money. The money was then kept from Freddy pending investigation after the 19-year-old hired his own lawyer and trustee to oversee the donations.

Now it looks like the teen received some good news regarding the funds.

“So I have some great news for everyone that has been following the story,” Fred wrote on Facebook.

“I will be allowed to put [the funds] into a trust that covers both living expenses and help with my tuition. Mrs. Blaney would like to turn over everything to her lawyer, and does not want anything to do with the trust account any longer. Together, my attorney and her attorney are working cooperatively to ensure that all assets donated go strictly to me and in a trust that I agree with,” Fred added.

Congratulations, Freddy!
