Prince

Last Thursday, Prince was found dead in his Paisley Park home. The effects of his death have echoed across the world. There has been an uncountable number of articles written about Prince, including a few right here at Global Grind. While celebrity deaths tend to be fairly common, something most certainly felt different about this one. People all over the country mourned at the loss of the purple one and it really felt like the entire world was in mourning.

With that sort of grief, it can also bring people together. And it did just that for a group which Prince had a very close relationship with. The Revolution, Prince’s old band, will be reunited.

“Following Prince’s death, his former backing band the Revolution has announced that they’ll be reuniting. The video that appeared on Brown Mark’s Facebook shows members Bobby Z., Brown Mark, Matt Fink, Wendy Melvoin, and Lisa Coleman together again. “We have decided, after spending three or four days together now grieving over the loss of Prince, that we would like to come out and do some shows,” says Melvoin. The group is coming together for the first time since 1986, but no official dates have been announced.”

Death be can hard but it’s nice to see that even in life’s darkest moments something beautiful can come out of it.
