It might come as a huge surprise to us all, but sources have told TMZ that Prince passed away leaving his estate without a will.
Sources are indicating that over the years of his fame, Prince decided against drawing up any kind of a will for himself.
They’re saying that other superstars had attempted to encourage him to have a will created, but he just chose against it.
Since the artist did not have children and according to the Minnesota laws when a resident passes away without a legal will, the estate goes to the closet living relative.
So, in Prince’s case, he closets relatives are his 5 half and 1 full bloodied sibling.
The star actually had eight siblings, but 2 have since passed away.
In Minnesota the half siblings have the exact same rights as his 1 full bloodied sister, Tyka. The law also says that if the late siblings have any living children then it’s possible that they will inherit a portion of his estate as well.
The reports are saying that Prince’s estate has a net worth around $150 million.
