Today marks the 21st anniversary of the death of Reina of Tejano, Selena Quintanilla who was gunned down by her employee.
As her older sister of Selena, Suzette posted on Facebook today along with a picture of Selena, an emoji lips and her expression of how today mad her feel by saying:
“Can’t believe I’ve survived this long without you….it’s insane!! I miss you more than you can ever imagine…. For those who wonder what goes on inside my heart..it’s the same as what I felt on day one. Thank you to all who continue to remember her and love her… ”
Today is a day for everyone to reflect on Selena’s passing since it was unexpected and still feels raw on her fans hearts.
Even Lupillo Rivera, the man who was sang the Corrido that he wrote for Selena at her funeral has spoken out.
Lupillo told that on March 31, 1995, “I was very nervous. This is what you do when you are just starting and want to get attention.”
He said that his dad even told him, “find a camera and to sing the corridor I had written of her. It was a way to show what I did because nobody wanted to play my music at the time.”
