An agent with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force posed as a 14-year-old girl to catch Representative Kyle Tasker attempting to engage in sexual acts with a minor.
According to the Union Leader an investigation into the New Hampshire Rep. began in January after police were informed that Tasker had allegedly sexually harassed a young woman. Ironically, Tasker serves on the House Committee on Children and Family Law.
The Task Force agent, disguised as the teen, arranged a meeting with the politician in Nottingham, NH. Upon arrival, Tasker was arrested. He was armed with a loaded gun. A subsequent search of his home led police to uncover more firearms as well as an “enormous amount of controlled substances that appeared packaged for sale” according to Prosecutor Stephanie Ilberg-Lamm.
Tasker has been charged with four felonies, one count of certain uses of computer services prohibited and three counts of possession of controlled drugs with the Intent to distribute.
His bail is set at $250,000. Colleagues have already begun calling for his resignation.
“After a conversation with the Nottingham Police Department, I am calling for Rep. Tasker to resign immediately to focus on his legal problem,” said House Speaker Shawn Jasper. “From the quantity of drugs involved, there is no question in my mind that he does not belong in the House.”
