Since the Houston Texans fired WR Stan Hixon, special teams coordinator Bob Ligashesky, and special teams assistant Anthony Pleasant, they had a few opens for replacements.
Also, the ST coach Bob Ligashesky was the last of the “Gary Kubiak era” and he has been replaced by coach Larry Izzo from the New York Giants where he coached five season.

Izzo is a 14-year career vet with coaching special teams and has made it to three Pro Bowls and played at a collegiate level at Rice University too.
The other coach that was hired Sean Ryan, a wide receivers coach who replaces Stan Hixon. Ryan has worked for the Giants for nine season working with receiver Odel Beckham, Jr. and some.
At the end of the Giants 6-10 season record, the Giants’ head coach Tom Coughlin stepped down, leaving his staff with options to go to other teams.
