Is it a feminism thing, being a modern time hippy or just because they feel like being funky like that?
Well, it’s a different story for everyone, but in every story, each woman is making their own kind of statement with this latest trend of dyeing your armpits.
The trend hitting the scenes is for women to grow out their armpit hair and than dyeing it what ever free loving color their hearts desires.
This is something that is supposed to make a woman feel empowered and self-confident like they talk about on the website Free Your Pits.
The founders of the website, Roxie Hunt and Rain Sissel explain how they are “both writers for How-to-Hair Girl, a Do it yourself hair empowerment blog and leaders of the Free your Pits Movement.”
The two are trying to show women that they can express themselves and challenge what society has set as the “norm.”
One lady who spoke about her dyed armpits was Meg Zulch, 20, she said, “Dyeing is a trend, but being who you are, growing out your armpit hair, feminism, those aren’t trends.
Destiny Moreno also went with the trend and dyed her armpits, Moreno said, “I find it really cute. Fashion accessory. It makes a fun aspect of it.”
She concludes saying, “Dyeing it makes it a lot easier to accept myself.
We’re all conditioned to shame body hair and a lot of women anatomy… but it’s I’m portent to question why you think these things.”
